About

The Pittsboro-Siler City Convention & Visitors Bureau is Chatham County’s official destination marketing organization (DMO), responsible for promoting travel and tourism, as mandated by the occupancy tax and its legal uses. As the liaison between potential visitors, media, and film scouts and the local travel industry, the CVB’s role is to increase tourism and its economic impact through effective and cost-efficient marketing of the county as a desirable visitor destination.

The CVB  is the catalyst for visitor-related economic development. The occupancy tax, a three percent tax paid by visitors and collected by local lodging facilities, can legally only be used to promote travel and tourism. The CVB is fully funded by this tax. The CVB works with visitor-related businesses to assist with their marketing and increase their visitation.

Our area is home to five-star stays, bed & breakfasts, championship golf, cycling and hiking trails, sites on the NC Birding Trail, an NC scenic byway,14,000 acres of water, wineries, “big cat” sanctuary, food tours, three rivers, and several more places to explore.
