TWeddingTableshe Plant: Located on the eastern half of Pittsboro, The Plant is a charming yet cozy venue with an energetic feel. Its rural setting and pollinator landscape make it perfect for those who value nature and community. They’ve hosted many local events in the past, including farm-to-fork dinners, festivals, conferences, weddings, and workshops.

The venue features, among a variety of amenities, a full kitchen, enormous parking lot, and nature trail. They also have a dozen on-site businesses including Queen Bee Party Rentals and Personal Home Cuisine (catering) and BreakFAST and Beyond (food truck), which makes it very easy to find vendors for your event. If you’re looking for a large, eco-friendly space for your next event, then The Plant is definitely for you!

Pricing: Those wishing to hold an event at The Plant must ThePlantEventpay a rental fee and security deposit upon signing their rental agreement. The security deposit will be returned three days following the event if the venue is restored to a neat and orderly condition, with no damages. Renters are liable for any required repairs for any damages they may have caused. Pricing for The Plant is listed below:

  1. Half day event (up to 6 hours) – $150
  2. All day event – $250
  3. Private Events – $1000

Organizers at The Plant are happy to arrange and supervise setup and removal of amenities from tents and tables to toilets for a fee.

Capacity: The maximum capacity for The Plant is 250 people, but they can host more. Events with more than 250 people will be required to have insurance for the event. Renters must provide a certificate of insurance sometime before using the venue.

Basic Specs: The roughly half an acre venue rents out their parking lot and grounds, including their lawn,Wedding Tent stage, and playground, to all guests. Guests will also receive access to their inventor of folding tables (6-8) and chairs (20-28). Renting doesn’t offer access to the farmland, greenhouse, or other buildings and features unless otherwise specified. They highly value sustainability, so guests are encouraged to use their recycling bins and compost pile whenever possible. Pets are not encouraged, but if you do bring them, they must be leashed, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. The Plant offers limited access to kitchen and bathroom facilities leased to Fair Game Beverage Company. However, renters are responsible for providing portable toilets for their event, as well as consulting with the venue about the placement and removal of them.

Catering Criteria/Options: Renters are allowed to choose caterers from The Plant’s approved list of vendors, which you can find below. Many of them are based in Chatham County, which gives guests an opportunity to support local businesses. Approved vendors include:

  1. Plant tenants – BreakFAST and Beyond, Piedmont Biofarm, and Screech Owl Greenhouses.
  2. Angelina’s Kitchen
  3. Small B&B and Cafe
  4. Bella Donna Italian Restaurant
  5. Chatham Marketplace
  6. Pittsboro Roadhouse
  7. Capital Area Tent Rentals
  8. Chatham Portables
  9. Schwerin’s Tent Company

Fun Fact: The Plant was an abandoned alloys manufacturer before the current owners repurposed it into the venue it is today.
