Our outdoor spaces are open year-round and with a gentle winter this season, we’ve enjoyed the variety of nature activities including birding, hiking, sailing and more. We’re pleased to share the spring series, Exploring Nature in Chatham, which kicks off, aptly, on Earth Day. New this year is a workshop with an award-winning photographer, David Blevins, plus a photography exhibition to showcase the works of art in nature. The workshop and exhibition are free and open to all, amateur and professional photographers, so tour our sights and capture the natural beauty for all of us to share.
The series continues with something for everyone, hikers, history buffs, and paddlers. We’re excited about these offerings with our partners who are able to make these nature celebrations happen (and for free) because of their passion for ecotourism. Central Carolina Community College offers an Ecotourism program for those of you who find your outdoor learning leads to a need for opening your own nature-based business. Also partnering in this endeavor are the Chatham Conservation Partnership, Haw River Canoe, and Triangle Land Conservancy.
Kick off Earth Day at the workshop or at an Earth Day celebration this year. Explore our nature and celebrate with us, we’re just around the bend.
