This is the first in our series of country drives and country cookin’.
Located close to Silk Hope Farm Heritage Park, Good Times Café is one of our new restaurants offering all your comfort food favorites. Many of our visitors love staying in our bed & breakfast inns, visiting our wineries, and enjoying a good mix of cozy and indulgent. Whether they’re staying with us to attend a workshop or wedding, stopover on the way to northern or southern states, or just get away from their daily chaos, guests experience all the amenities of home and hotel. Heartfriends Inn and the Inn at Celebrity Dairy are among the nearby B&Bs for your stay.
Good Times Café has a ton of black and white photographs strewn throughout the eatery and the decor pops with a bright red color reminiscent of cool diners back in the (happy) days. The front porch, white picket fence framing it, and the rockers remind us to slow down, sit a spell, and enjoy the country landscapes. Pull up a bar stool for the ultimate diner-style meal, complete with a view of the action and a chance to watch local guests come through the door.
Good Times Café offers its share of specialties and they know what people like to eat when it comes to hearty, comfort, and good burgers. Gravy biscuits, home fries, Virginia ham and egg sandwiches, and other popular breakfast items are available, all at such good prices too. Good Times knows good burgers and barbecue (bar-b-que) too, with all the sides you’ll want to order, including hushpuppies, red slaw, onion rings, and cob corn. B-B-Q ribs, hushpuppies, and slaw are available for dinner, and B-B-Q wings too. Vegetarians will find sandwiches, omelets, and plenty more to eat.
And, much like when you’re visiting good friends, they won’t let you go without trying the banana pudding, cobbler, or pie. Again, all this great fare is served at reasonable and affordable prices, with heaping southern hospitality, and cooked to order. And don’t forget to buy your souvenir, a shirt or cap, to savor the memory and reminder to return.
